Syntec Numérique – BVA poll: the French say “Yes” to digital development in schools
More precisely, six out of ten French people would like to see these courses introduced as early as elementary school, or even kindergarten. The remainder would rather see these lessons starting in junior high school (34%) or, more rarely, high school (4%). Bruno Vanryb, President of Syntec Numérique’s Collège Editeurs, attributes these positive results to “the penetration of digital tools and uses in the daily lives of everyone, including the very young”.
What do the French put behind these digital courses? A large majority consider learning the most common office software programs to be a priority (77%), as well as receiving civic education on digital issues, including data protection and privacy (74%). Far behind are students learning how to program (17% of responses) and understanding the digital economy (16%).
