As part of the negotiations for a new, strengthened Privacy Shield, on October 7 the United States signed an executive order on improved safeguards for a personal data protection framework between the European Union (EU) and the United States.
Numeum welcomes this initiative, which enables progress to be made in the work begun by the EU on drawing up a new Privacy Shield agreement. All sectors are concerned, from industry to finance, from commerce to services.
With the adoption of the decree and its accompanying regulation, the Commission can now propose an adequacy decision and launch its adoption procedure. In this respect, we welcome the European Commission’s efforts to ensure that technical discussions lead to an agreement that puts an end to regulatory uncertainty. Companies need legal visibility to operate. Numeum wants a clear, rapidly applicable framework.
