A catalyst of opportunities to boost the international development of women-owned businesses in France

The Web Summit 2024 promises to be the stage for this new offensive and an exceptional springboard for women leaders in French tech. Under the aegis of a trio of committed presidents – Véronique Torner, President of Numeum, Soumia Malinbaum, President of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Elisabeth Moreno, President of Femmes@Numérique and former Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men – this initiative aims to make tech more accessible, more diverse, and to encourage the growth of women-led businesses in France and internationally.

In preparation for this major event, 19 women entrepreneurs from start-ups and ETIs took part in an intensive bootcamp organized by Business France. This advanced training equipped them for strategic meetings with investors, potential partners and key figures in the European tech ecosystem.

This mission is supported by emblematic figures such as Maya Noël, Managing Director of France Digitale, Dominique Restino, President of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France, Marie-Christine Oghly, Vice-President of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France and President of Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales, and Maÿlis Staub, member of the Comex of Numeum and President of the Nova In Tech commission. Their involvement reinforces the visibility and influence of French women in Tech.

Feminization as a growth driver

France is facing a major challenge: a potential loss of 10% of its GDP by 2026, as a direct consequence of insufficient feminization in the tech sector. This reality underlines the fact that feminization of tech is not just a question of inclusion, but a real driver for creating a more dynamic, innovative and economically robust tech ecosystem.

Against this backdrop, “Women in Tech for Future” is stepping up its commitment. The collective plans to be present at major tech events such as Vivatech in Paris and Gitex Africa in Morocco. These international platforms will offer French female tech leaders unrivalled opportunities to extend their influence, forge strategic partnerships and conquer new markets.

Dominique Restino

Chairman, CCI Paris Ile-de France

In many sectors, such as technology, women are still under-represented. We’re proud to be joining forces to support Woman In Tech For Future, which supports and promotes female success stories in the tech industry. Together, we can break down barriers and stereotypes, working to promote parity in business.

Véronique Torner

President of Numeum

We believe that women have a decisive role to play in shaping the future of Tech, and we’re proud to be leading this mission at Web Summit. It’s not just about representation, it’s about transforming the ecosystem to become an engine of growth and inclusion.

Maylis Staub

Entrepreneur and President of NOVA in tech

Our presence at the Web Summit is more than essential: it’s urgent. We are facing an alarming situation of regression. Young women’s interest in the tech professions is eroding dangerously, and we cannot remain passive. We must act now, with determination and creativity, to reverse this trend. Our mission is to bring about profound change, to inspire and support the next generation of female tech leaders. It’s a question of equity, but also of performance and competitiveness for our economy and society as a whole.
