Paris, March 15, 2012-Syntec Numérique presents the Women in the Digital Economy Commission, chaired by Viviane Chaine-Ribeiro. The evening’s activities include the results of a survey of Syntec Numérique member companies, role models, the launch of “La Route du Numérique au Féminin, a toolbox for companies”…
Created by charismatic women in the industry, Femmes du numériques has a threefold mission:

“Despite the image they are sometimes given, digital professions are varied and attractive, and it’s possible to thrive in them. Visit The “Women matter” studiescarried out by McKinsey for the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society have already proved that gender diversity, particularly at managerial level, is a powerful competitive lever for companies, all the more so in times of crisis,” comments Viviane Chaine-Ribeiro.
The survey was carried out at the end of 2011 by MARKESS International, among 42 member companies of Syntec Numérique, (67% of the Collège Conseil & Services, 26% of the Collège Editeurs and 7% of the Collège Conseil en Technologies).Femmes du Numériques is equipped with benchmark indicators to track progress in promoting professional equality between women and men.
The survey revealed that women are still under-represented in the workforce, accounting for an average of 25% of the total, a figure that decreases as you move up the hierarchy.
– There is a pay gap between men and women, which widens along the hierarchical ladder (from 6% for employees and technicians to over 37% for senior executives).
– Only 23% of promotions went to women in 2011.
– Nearly 80% of companies are in the process of implementing measures to promote gender equality following the decree of July 7, 2011.
