2023 has been a year of metamorphosis for Numeum. Since last June and the renewal of our governance1 , Numeum has been transforming itself to implement our “Rayonner et Fédérer” project.
Faced with the changing economic, social and environmental challenges of digital technology, Numeum must also change dimension. A new cycle has thus begun for our union: one that will enable us to embody the collective even more strongly and multiply our impact tenfold.
The 2023 activity report presents an occasion to review the role of a digital industry association over a defined year. Activity reporting is useful when it connects priorities to actions and gives members a basis for discussion.
Member services can include studies, events, specialist resources and opportunities to exchange with peers. The value for an individual business depends on its needs and participation. Understanding the goals, audience and circumstances of an initiative makes it easier to appreciate why the association invested time and resources in it.
An activity report gives members a basis for understanding how priorities translated into initiatives over a defined year. It connects representation, events, professional resources and sector studies. Figures about achievements should be taken from the report itself and identified with its reporting period, rather than assumed from the title.
An industry association brings together organisations that often compete commercially but face common challenges in skills, regulation and innovation. Collective work can make those issues easier to explain to decision-makers and the public. Its contribution should be assessed through practical actions as well as speeches and announcements.
