Numeum’s mission is to represent ESNs (Entreprises de Services du Numérique), ICTs (technology consulting firms), software publishers, platforms and, more broadly, all digital businesses. This new organization, a member of the Syntec Federation, will represent 2,300 companies accounting for 85% of total sales in the digital sector and representing 530,000 jobs in France.

Numeum aims to put digital technology at the service of people, with a founding ambition: to act in the service of a responsible digital future for all. Numeum will be jointly chaired by Pierre-Marie Lehucher and Godefroy de Bentzmann, formerly presidents of Syntec Numérique and TECH IN France.

Our raison d’être: Make the digital voice shine through

Our signature: “Engaging digital

Embodying digital differently

As the Covid-19 crisis has shown, digital technology is an essential lever for the development and modernization of our economy and society. The year 2022 will be marked by two major milestones: the presidential election and the French presidency of the EU Council. These opportunities will enable us to reposition digital issues in their rightful place, in France and in Europe, provided we speak with one voice.

For over a year, teams from Syntec Numérique and TECH IN France have been working hand in hand to bring this union to fruition. numeum’s ambition is to be the voice of the digital industry at both French and European level. In addition to bringing together digital companies, numeum’s vocation is to bring together all economic players who wish to accelerate their digital transformation and who share the same challenges, including: the growth and competitiveness of digital companies, the digital transformation of all companies and administrations, digital responsibility and employment and retraining issues.

Numeum, “engaging digital” and acting for a responsible digital future

In a changing world, numeum aims to support, represent and unite players of all sizes by defending moral, social, societal and environmental values. Its ambition? to act in the service of responsible digital technology for business, society, people and the planet.

numeum’s commitment is fourfold:

  1. To speak with a single voice and act as a rallying point for the digital ecosystem at the service of citizens.
  2. Embody digital France in Europe and the world, by strengthening our presence and actions in Brussels to become the voice of French digital technology at European level.
  3. Coordinate the entire ecosystem to promote synergies between digital players, and act as a link between all digital companies in different regions of France and their regional representative structures.
  4. Strengthen and expand our services to all digital businesses: by offering them the support they need to grow, and by stepping up our actions to promote employment in the digital sector, attractiveness, training, the role of women and, more generally, all social and environmental issues.

Over the coming months, numeum teams will be focusing on three main areas:

  • Digital technology at the service of people
  • Innovation at the service of society
  • The decisive role of digital technology in overcoming the crisis and bringing about major economic change

Numeum will also continue the work already undertaken by Syntec Numérique and TECH IN France on a range of issues, including the environment, employment, cybersecurity and e-health.

numeum governance

The new union will be organized into two colleges: a Services college, made up of ESNs and ICTs, and a Solutions college, made up of software publishers and platforms. Numeum will be co-chaired for one year by Godefroy de Bentzmann, ex-president of Syntec Numérique, and Pierre-Marie Lehucher, ex-president of TECH IN France. The Board of Directors will meet for the first time in July 2021.

“The current period has shown that something new is happening in digital, and the time has come for us to come together under one banner to form the first community for digital and speak with one voice”, explains Pierre-Marie Lehucher, co-President of numeum.

“To ensure that this ambition is not just wishful thinking, we are collectively committed to ensuring that digital technology is not just a social project, but at the heart of a social project. The next strategic political milestones – the presidential election and the French Presidency of the European Union – will be opportunities to give digital the means to play this role, against a backdrop of economic recovery, explains Godefroy de Bentzmann, co-Chairman of numeum.
