3 major amendments to modernize the collective bargaining agreement

Rider no. 46 of July 16, 2021, known as the“grooming” amendment to the national collective agreement, and its ridersof March 31, 2022, October 27, 2022 and December 13, 2022,have been applicable sinceMay 1, 2023.

As a reminder:

  • Amendment no. 46 of July 16, 2021 to the collective bargaining agreement of December 15, 1987 recasts the 85 articles of the Collective Bargaining Agreement into 69 articles structured into thirteen chapters.
  • Supplementary agreements no. 1 dated March 31, 2022 and no. 2 dated October 27, 2022 modify certain provisions relating to the trial period, retirement and severance pay.
  • Amendment no. 3 modifies certain provisions relating to work on Sundays and public holidays.

The December 13, 2022 agreement onspontaneous termination of pregnancy has been in force sinceMay 1, 2023.

As a reminder:

It creates, in the event of spontaneous termination of pregnancy before twenty-two (22) weeks of amenorrhea,an exceptional leave of absence of two (2) days, non-deductible from leave and not entailing any reduction in salary.

Provided that they are also employees of a company in the branch, the mother’s spouse or the person bound to her by a civil solidarity pact or living in a marital relationship with her benefits from this leave under the same conditions.”
