The two associations are particularly pleased with the first recommendation, which calls for dedicated teaching from elementary school onwards in an extracurricular setting, and the rapid roll-out of the ISN1 option to all high schools and all courses of study. It echoes theproposals made by Syntec Numérique in January 2014 for a national training plan, for and through digital, to accelerate the spread of the necessary skills from the earliest age.

“Early education in the major concepts of IT thinking is in line with the need to create a generation of modern citizens, but also with the social and professional integration issues facing future generations. It’s vital to give students the keys to understanding the world around them, enabling them to become players in this ecosystem rather than mere consumers of digital technology”, comments  Guy Mamou-Mani, President of Syntec Numérique.
