Syntec Numérique welcomes bill to integrate computer code into school curriculum
This approach echoes theproposals made by Syntec Numérique in January 2014 for a national training plan, for and through digital, to accelerate the spread of the necessary skills from the earliest age.
According to Guy Mamou-Mani, President of Syntec Numérique, early exposure to the major concepts of computer science and technology is essential, and meets two major challenges:
– give students the keys to understanding the world around them, enabling them to become players in this ecosystem rather than just consumers of digital technology;
– meet the recruitment needs of the digital industry, as demonstrated by the recentContrat d’étude prospective (CEP) for the digital sector, which highlighted more than 36,000 net job creations by 2018.
This draft law meets the need for social and professional integration of young people, but also for the creation of a generation of modern citizens.
