Digital technology is a tremendous opportunity to meet the challenges faced by local and regional authorities. From now on, any ambitious policy for regional development and planning, or relating to their specific skills, will be supported by digital technology. It fosters innovation in the public sector at all levels of administration, increases the range of public services on offer, improves local authority management and public accounts, and ultimately has a positive impact on the economy as a whole.

10 proposals based on 4 main priorities to accelerate the digital transformation of regions and departments:

  1. Acting for users, citizens and regional revitalization
  2. Building a sustainable community and an inclusive society
  3. Improving the management and operation of the community
  4. Ensuring the digital security of communities and their users

The 3 prerequisites for the success of public policies involving or using digital technology identified by Syntec Numérique and TECH IN France

  • High-quality infrastructure, including 100% fiber or alternative 4G/5G connection.
  • Raise awareness and train local civil servants and citizens on a massive scale in digital issues, skills and humanities.
  • Ensuring the digital security of local authorities, which will require a substantial increase in the IT budget dedicated to this subject.
