Open letter from the digital sector – reassuring and protecting companies for data transfers

It is essential for companies to ensure the continuity of data transfers outside the European Union by :

• favoring a differentiated approach based on risk analysis, in accordance with the RGPD;
• defining, in consultation with stakeholders, measures that take into account the economic realities of data transfer and make it possible to reconcile the defence of European values, such as the protection of citizens and their data, with the digital development of French and European companies;
• rapidly finalizing a new political agreement allowing the transfer of personal data to the United States, bringing greater legal certainty to the entire French business ecosystem, while protecting the fundamental rights of all citizens.
