France Université Numérique presentation: the role of digital companies in the development of MOOCs has not been recognized

As an advocate of improving training in digital skills to enhance employability in all professions, Syntec Numérique also marks its satisfaction that the digital agenda for higher education includes a section on vocational training, in line with the inclusion of lifelong learning in the University’s missions by the law of July 22, 2013. However, he hopes that the question of the commercial exploitation of learner data in this context will be the subject of consultation.

It also welcomes the impetus that the government intends to give to research into digital pedagogy and, more broadly, e-Education, in association with industry, in order to develop innovation in training systems. We also support efforts to pool digital infrastructures, such as the UnivCloud project backed by the RENATER network.

However, the trade association deplores the way in which the development of MOOCs (Massive Online Open Courses) in France, the pedagogical support for the current education revolution, is being envisaged.
