Eric Bantegnie founded Syntec Numérique’s Embedded Committee in 2007, and helped found the “Club des Grandes Entreprises de l’Embarqué”. On September 12, at the Elysée Palace, he was appointed Project Manager for “Embedded Software and Systems”, one of the 34 industrial reconquest plans in the national initiative for the “New Industrial France” unveiled by the President of the Republic and the Minister for Productive Development.

He is also co-founder and CEO of Esterel Technologies, a French SME and subsidiary of the ANSYS Group, world leader in development tools for mission-critical embedded systems and software.

As a privileged interface with public authorities on embedded technology issues, Embedded France aims in particular to:

  • federate this new industrial sector, with more than 220,000 high value-added, fast-growing jobs*.
  • decompartmentalize the market between the vertical sectors that make it up
  • create a favorable environment for the development of players in the sector, from industrial contractors to digital service companies (DSCs) and techno-providers (including many start-ups)
  • facilitate recruitment and training
  • communicate with all stakeholders in the industry.

“With the creation of Embedded France, we aim to develop employment in the “made in France” embedded systems and software sector, contribute to the competitiveness of French industry and structure development projects for the sector. More than half of the projects launched as part of the New Industrial France initiative incorporate embedded systems and software, such as cars consuming less than 2 liters per 100 kms, autopilot vehicles, electric aircraft, the TGV of the future, cyber-security, smart grids, robotics and connected objects, to name but a few examples,” comments Eric Bantegnie.
