A sibling’s complementary backgrounds and skills

Grégoire and Clotilde Pigné are the founding members of the prize-winning 360 medical project. This sibling group combines medical and entrepreneurial skills, which enabled them to identify a current need in the practice of medicine and to design the project around this need.

Grégoire Pigné is currently an intern in Oncology Radiotherapy. However, he has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, as demonstrated by his participation in the “Nutrix” project (food management software for private individuals) during his studies. What’s more, in parallel with his medical studies, he is currently following the “Start-up” program at EM Lyon, to strengthen his skills in business creation and management.

Clotilde Pigné, who trained at EM Lyon business school, brought her practical and methodological skills in commercial project management to the project. The team also includes Romain Bruckert, in charge of technical aspects and solution development.

A project in line with the evolution of doctors’ practices

With the decline in the number of doctors and the increase in the number of patients (Papy Boom), doctors are really short of time. What’s more, with the accumulation of medical knowledge and the development of personalized medicine, the practice of medicine is becoming increasingly complex.

As a result, doctors’ practices are changing: the obligation to be efficient is becoming more prevalent, decisions are becoming more collegial, and sources of information are increasingly digital. In fact, almost all GPs (96%) regularly use Google to find medical information, according to the first “web and health” barometer published in April 2013.

360 medical is a software solution designed to support doctors in this changing environment, created by doctors for doctors.

360 medical provides doctors with innovative e-health software that simplifies their day-to-day practice.

360 medical, available on computer or smartphone, is:

  • Business software as a prescription aid
  • A collaborative network to facilitate exchanges between colleagues
  • A media library to keep knowledge up to date

It should be noted that this solution will be entirely free of charge for practitioners, with 360 medical earning its income from partnerships and advertisers.

360 medical supports doctors throughout their practice, providing them with a new tool for improving efficiency and the quality of the care they provide.

An award, a recognition

Grégoire and Clotilde Pigné are currently in the prototype design and fund-raising phases, and are delighted with both the prize and its financial endowment. It will strengthen their case with investors and give the project credibility with future customers and suppliers.

The winners would also like to acknowledge the support of the EM Lyon business incubator, headed by Michel Coster, as well as the quality of the economic and entrepreneurial ecosystem in the capital of the Gauls for this type of project.

The award not only recognizes the quality of the work already accomplished, but also boosts the team’s ability to take the next steps, in particular securing the funding needed to launch the software. The first version of 360 medical, due for launch in early 2014, will be dedicated to oncologists, with a target of 90% of specialists registered after one year.
