AFDEL and Syntec Numérique welcome the Government’s adoption of a competitiveness strategy that places innovation at the heart of public policy. At a time when debates on the PLF 2014 are continuing and those on the collective budget are already underway, AFDEL and Syntec Numérique reaffirm their support for additional measures to ease the tax burden on the innovative ecosystem, notably by making employee shareholding schemes – stock options and performance shares – more attractive, and to facilitate private investment. The two organizations also reiterate that it is now essential to provide proactive support for investment in digital technology by all industrial sectors.
The commitment of the government, and of Minister Fleur Pellerin in particular, to a global approach aimed at actively supporting innovation in France is welcomed by digital industry trade organizations, which have long campaigned for public authorities to better understand and take into account the reality of French innovation. AFDEL and Syntec Numérique agree with the Minister’s vision of innovation and entrepreneurship, which emphasizes that the effective implementation of an innovation policy necessarily relies on the action of existing ecosystems, as well as on an environment that encourages a culture of risk-taking and entrepreneurship.
