Big cities create the most jobs

Although startups have been generating jobs since the beginning of the year, Numeum has observed a slowdown in growth between January and February in all regions of mainland France.

The figures also show a wide geographical disparity:Île de France andAuvergne-Rhône-Alpes stand out for their positive momentum. At the same time, Normandy and Corsica are experiencing a slight downturn.

GreenTech continues to drive growth

Far ahead of the pack, GreenTech is once again the sector that comes out on top, with 495 jobs generated in February, representing almost 1,200 jobs generated since the start of 2023. Fintech (+135) and construction tech (+122) complete the podium.

However, Numeum observes a high degree of volatility in the number of jobs generated by sector in February: while insurtech, civictech and traveltech are booming, healthtech, HRtech and e-commerce are losing places in the rankings compared to January.
