Syntec Numérique continues to promote women’s access to the digital professions

On October 17, the French Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, Cédric O, organized a number of events and working groups on gender diversity in the digital economy, to coincide with the “Women in digital: let’s give ourselves every chance of success” mobilization day. Syntec Numérique has long been committed to this issue, and would like to lend its full support to the initiatives launched, in particular to the charter drawn up by the Sista collective with the French National Digital Council (CNNum) to promote financing for women entrepreneurs.

With its Femmes du Numérique program, Syntec Numérique aims to encourage women to enter the digital professions. Women represent 27.4%* of employees in the sector, compared with 46.8% for the economy as a whole, so there’s still a long way to go.

Conducted in partnership with Social Builder, this program has a number of objectives:

  • training women in technological subjects by co-financing specific programs
  • informing them about existing opportunities, with the design and provision of tools such as Adabot, the “guidance chatbot
  • help them meet at themed afterworks in Paris and the regions
  • promote female role models in the industry

The Manifesto for the retraining of women in the digital professions, launched last May at Vivatech, is the latest step in this direction. In just 4 months, 75 companies have already signed up, pledging to ensure that working women have access to jobs in the digital sector.
