Five professional organizations representing companies supplying e-health solutions today announced the creation of the eHealth France® alliance,
, to develop and promote the French digital health sector. This initiative will increase the visibility and impact of a sector that is creating jobs and growth for France,
, and whose development is making a vital contribution to the modernization of healthcare systems.

The overall e-health market in France is worth around 3 billion euros and represents 30,000 jobs. It is made up of companies offering digital healthcare solutions at various
levels of the industry, and more specifically :

  • in the fields of drugs and medical devices,
  • medical informatics publisher,
  • in the software and IT services sector,
  • health and social information systems,
  • service, consulting and change management providers.
  • Five major organizations representing French SMEs, ETIs and major groups have joined forces to develop and enhance the image of this sector in France and abroad.

Given the interconnected nature of digital healthcare issues, and the obstacles holding back the development of e-health in France, this alliance, formalized in a memorandum of understanding,
, will enable the companies represented to work and speak with one voice on issues of common interest.

The founders of this alliance, called eHealth France®, are :

  • FEIMA: Federation of ambulatory medical and paramedical IT publishers
  • LEEM: Pharmaceutical companies
  • LESISS: Health and social information systems companies
  • SNITEM: Syndicat national de l’industrie des technologies médicales (National union of the medical technology industry)
  • SYNTEC Numérique: Trade association for digital services companies (ESN), software publishers and technology consulting firms.

“The creation of this alliance is based on the representativeness of entrepreneurial players in esanté in France. This is the first step before opening up to other players in the digital health sector. This will provide us with a common platform for exchange and work, which will act as a reference point, particularly in our dealings with public authorities. One of the challenges is to promote market access for e-health solutions, to give France every opportunity to succeed in the digital transformation underway, and to occupy the place our country deserves in this fast-growing field worldwide”, declares. Pierre Leurent, spokesman and coordinator of the eHealth France® alliance.
