Numeum Tour Occitanie: Let’s get our regions on board to build a digital Europe!
The French Digital Team is on the move! The Numeum Tour is back in Occitanie. On the occasion of La Mêlée*, Toulouse welcomes and gathers the regional digital community.
The numeum Tour is launched! Toulouse hosted the 1st leg of our regional tour de France, which aims to bring together the regional digital community to share common challenges and strengthen local synergies. An important event in the context of the Melée and followed by the IA Tour Occitanie, organized by MEDEF Occitanie.
At this event, Numeum’s President Véronique Torner reminded us of the stakes involved in the current economic, geopolitical and political uncertainty. International tensions show that strategic autonomy is becoming an imperative for Europe. In France, political instability is creating a climate that is hardly conducive to investment and innovation. Nevertheless, “Digital is not just another sector: it’s the foundation of tomorrow’s competitiveness”, Véronique Torner stresses.

The President of Numeum calls for a shock of investment and political will to digitize the economy, boost the competitiveness of France and Europe, and guarantee their strategic autonomy.
Équipe de France du Numérique: two major reinforcements in Occitanie
Faced with these challenges, Numeum launched theFrench Digital Team last June. This unprecedented gathering was born of a conviction: the players in the ecosystem can no longer move forward alone. The initiative, which brings together large and small, promotes our strengths, consolidates the French ecosystem and aims, in time, to become a European digital team.
In the presence of Julien Tognola (Regional Director, DREETS Occitanie), Jérôme Penso (Regional Delegate, Atlas) and Céline Chauvet (Territorial Director, France Travail), Véronique Torner, President of Numeum, officially welcomed Cyber’Occ, Occitanie’s cybersecurity center, and IoT Valley to theÉquipe de France du Numérique.
These structures join the initiative with the same clear ambition: to unite the strengths of the industry to have a greater impact, act more effectively and respond to the major challenges of our time. Our rich and diverse ecosystem is brimming with initiatives, talent and innovation – especially in Occitanie. To date, the Équipe de France du Numérique brings together 50 “players” and 25 partners, including 6 organizations from Occitanie.
A new regional delegate: welcome to Magali Germont
At the Numeum Tour Occitanie 2025, the organization for digital professionals welcomes Magali Germont as the new Regional Delegate for Occitanie. She succeeds Anne Destouches, who has held Numeum’s colors high in the region for several years.
Magali Germont reminds us of the importance of the initiatives piloted by Numeum. Major initiatives such as Nova in Tech, Numeric’Emploi and the Equipe de France du Numérique aim to act and unite in a common dynamic in favor of the digital ecosystem. The new Regional Delegate is also focusing on responsible digital and the impact of AI on the business of digital companies.
AI Tour Occitanie: AI adoption slows down
The Numeum Tour Occitanie was an opportunity to focus on artificial intelligence, and more specifically on its business impact for companies. The regional leg of the IA Tour Occitanie, co-organized with MEDEF, offered concrete feedback on AI applied to our businesses and organizations, as well as a decoding of its challenges.
At the event, Véronique Torner set the scene: France has no shortage of talent, but adoption is lagging. Fewer than 10% of companies use AI, compared with a European average of over 13%. Only 23% use the cloud, a far cry from the EU average of 39%. Unsurprisingly, France ranks 22nd out of 25 for combined AI / data / cloud usage. This is reflected in the economic climate: +1.8% for the industry this year, with declines for ESN (-2.1%), technology consulting (-2.5%), and a declining industrial segment for ESN (-4.1%).
The next stage of the Numeum Tour will take place in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, on November 13. Companies, clusters, local authorities: join the movement.
