The Fédération de la Plasturgie et des Composites and Syntec Numérique launch their white paper on digital technology as a growth gas pedal for plastics and composites professionals. Digital technology is structurally changing the industrial world: the factory, the way it operates, the relationships between employees and its ecosystem. Together with Syntec Numérique, the Federation wanted to develop a clear vision of digital transformation for plastics and composites companies, as well as an operational approach based on testimonials.

Digital technology, a strategic challenge for the plastics and composites industry

“We’re preparing our companies today and training our employees in technologies that may well have evolved significantly by tomorrow. Innovation is generally at the heart of digital conversion. That’s why, with this white paper, we want to provide support for change and training, essential to the success of any project”. says Philippe PELLERIN, CEO – BERICAP – Vice-President Innovation of the French Federation of Plastics and Composites.

The white paper is based on the conviction that digital technology can help VSEs and SMEs in the plastics and composites industry to work in a more integrated and networked way, or even to pool resources and investments, in order to gain in power while preserving their flexibility and agility.

A lever for transformation

Digital technology acts as a lever to meet the challenges facing companies: reducing “time to market”, improving efficiency and performance (reducing operating costs or eliminating waste), increasing responsiveness in customer service, improving quality and developing new services linked to product use. The white paper provides concrete testimonials from companies in the industry who are making the digital transition.

Supporting in-depth change: training to become agile

Digital technology is a genuine corporate project, and digital culture requires teams to be more collaborative, autonomous and responsive, with the availability of new tools and the introduction of new ways of working.

With digital technology, the world has entered the era of data, virtualization and networks. “Digital technology is a real revolution, forcing the current industrial production model to evolve towards a personalized production model, especially since end-users will be able to design or manufacture part of their purchase”, explains Vincent DE BENTZMANN, President of Techteam – Member of the Industry Committee of Syntec Numérique.
