Enhancing the attractiveness of digital professions

At the heart of the transformation of society and the economy, the digital sector represents365,000 employees, 49.5 billion euros in sales and 35,000 job offers every year, 93.6% of which are permanent1. A vector for employment and the future, it is today one of the main levers in the fight against unemployment in France.

And yet, digital technology is at the heart of a paradox: while young people are in favor of the new technologies in their daily lives and in the way they use them, they feel that they are too complex to use in their professional lives.

In response to this situation, Syntec Numérique, in association with its Federation, has stepped up its efforts to raise awareness of opportunities and break down preconceived ideas:La Tribu des S’Nums,Numéri’pass, the mobile application “L’officiel des métiers du numérique”,the “Talents du numérique” event in June 2014, andJEM’NUM. At the end of the first half of 2015, the first CV’thèque will also be available for young people to find internships and jobs in the digital sector.

In order to create a real reference point for guidance, employment and training, the professional chamber is now bringing together all these initiatives and digital communities (Facebook pages, etc.) under the “Talents du numérique” brand.

The aim is to help 13-25 year-olds to discover, train and apply for jobs in the sector, by offering them content tailored and targeted to each profile: middle schoolers, high schoolers, school dropouts, students and young professionals.
