Numeum is the employers’ association and leading organization for digital professionals in France. A member of the Syntec federation, the second largest branch of the MEDEF, it represents digital services companies (ESN), software publishers, platforms and engineering and technology consulting (ICT) companies.Numeum’s 2,500 member companies account for 85% of the sector’s total sales, which in turn represent €70 billion in sales and 670,000 employees in France. Chaired by Véronique Torner since June 2023, Numeum is implementing an impact project to raise the profile of the sector and federate the ecosystems of Digital professionals in France and Europe. The presidency has set itself three main priorities: the regions, to support members throughout France; skills, to meet the challenges of attractiveness and gender diversity; and responsible digital, to accompany and support the development of a digital ecosystem on a trajectory of positive economic, social, societal and environmental impact.

Biography
Véronique Torner
A graduate of CPE Lyon, Véronique Torner began her entrepreneurial career in 1998 with the co-creation of Black Orange, an e-commerce startup that was sold to Editions Atlas in 2000.
She then took over as General Manager of Masterline Net Solutions, then of Masterline for 5 years alongside Philippe Montargès, its founder. Masterline was sold to Alti at the end of 2005.
In 2006, Philippe Montargès and Véronique Torner co-founded Alter Way, a technology company that designs, develops and manages application and digital infrastructure services based on the cloud and DevOps methods.
At the end of 2021, Alter Way will join the Smile Group, the European leader in Open Source digital services, and spearhead the Smile Group’s Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps offering.
At the same time, since 2009, Véronique Torner has been president of the Open CIO Summit, the first Open Source summit “by CIOs for CIOs”. She regularly assists IT decision-makers in their strategic thinking and the implementation of Open Source projects.
Since 2013 Véronique Torner has been a member of numeum’s board of directors and since 2019 a member of the comex in charge of the Responsible Digital program and Planet Tech’Care.
She received the “Femme du Numérique” award at the Tribune Women’s Awards 2015 and chaired the Program Committee for the Paris Open Source Summit 2015 (the result of the merger of Open World Forum and Solution Linux).
By decree of the President of the Republic on February 8, 2016, Véronique Torner was appointed a member of the Conseil national du Numérique for two years.
From 2016 to 2018, she was also a member of the Orientation Council of the Friedland Institute.
From 2016 to 2019, she was a board member of Monde Nouveau – CPE Lyon’s endowment fund.
In January 2018, Véronique Torner was appointed honorary member and member of the scientific council of the Société informatique de France, a space for reflection, consultation on the challenges of computing, and a space for action, amplifying actions based on the work of the community.
Since March 2018, Véronique Torner has been a mentor at the Institut du Mentorat entrepreneurial, a program, dedicated to SMEs and SMIs, of tailored coaching and peer-to-peer experience sharing.
On October 17, 2018, Véronique Torner received the insignia of the National Order of Merit from Mr. Mounir Mahjoubi, Secretary of State for the Digital Sector.
On June 14, 2023, Véronique was elected President of Numeum, prior to which she was Vice-President in charge of Responsible Digital at Numeum.
