A new structure to meet the challenges of the ecosystem

The intense acceleration of the digital transition we have been experiencing since the start of the pandemic has contributed to the rapid transformation of our ways of working and consuming. We have never needed digital more, and the sector has never faced so many challenges. All digital professions (software publishers, ESN, ICT, platform providers, etc.), despite their differences, are concerned by the reinvention of economic and value models, the war for talent, the need to reinforce the ethical and responsible dimensions of digital, the intensification of competition, new regulations, technological innovation and the geopolitical stakes of data.

Against this backdrop, Syntec Numérique and TECH IN France are convinced that their combined strengths are needed to meet the 5 key digital challenges facing France:

  • The place of digital technology in society
  • Digital France in Europe
  • The growth and competitiveness of our digital businesses
  • The digital transformation of all businesses and administrations, a vector for economic growth
  • The social, societal and ecological challenges of digital technology.

The new reference organization for digital in France

By merging, Syntec Numérique and TECH IN France are pursuing a common ambition based on 4 main axes:

  • Represent the voice of the digital sector and act as a rallying point for the digital ecosystem in the service of the citizen, in particular as a legitimate and constructive interlocutor with public authorities in France and Europe, and through actions to promote digital citizenship, particularly in the field of education.
  • Strengthen and expand our services to all digital businesses: offer all digital businesses the support they need to grow, deepen our expertise in specific areas and strengthen our actions in favor of jobs in the digital sector, attractiveness, training, the role of women and, more generally, all societal and environmental issues.
  • Embody digital France in Europe and around the world: strengthen European partnerships with our peers, promote French and European sovereignty, support French digital companies internationally and strengthen links with all export support structures.
  • Coordinate the entire ecosystem to promote synergies between digital players in the development of innovation and digital offerings, and act as a link between all digital companies in different regions of France and their representative regional structures.

Completion in spring 2021

The merger is the culmination of long-standing cooperation between the two organizations, which began in November 2019, and which has resulted in a steering committee to monitor joint actions, the setting up of committees organized and held jointly on certain subjects (“Health” and “City”) and a shared “Training” commission.

The merger of TECH IN France and Syntec Numérique will result in the creation of a new brand, a new name, and a legal framework to be defined. A new governance structure will also be put in place to ensure a lasting balance.

In terms of timing, the merger project will be completed by the end of March if possible, and by June 30, 2021 at the latest.

“I am delighted with this merger, which crowns a year of fruitful collaboration with TECH IN France,” says Godefroy de Bentzmann, President of Syntec Numérique. “This period of pandemic has not only accelerated digital transformation but also the evolution of business models already at work; the merger will enable us to best support our ecosystem in the face of these upheavals.”

“After 15 years of leading the distinctive way for software publishers, Tech IN France is proud to play an active role in the merger of the two main professional organizations in the digital sector. This is a major step forward for our companies: the opportunity to have a much stronger representation in France and Europe, and a new entity capable of accompanying digital businesses, from start-ups to large groups, on the path to innovation and growth. The public authorities will now have a key interlocutor on all our issues,” declares Pierre-Marie Lehucher, President of TECH IN France.
