Syntec Numérique’s 3 major projects for 2018

  • The data revolution

Tomorrow’s economy will be driven by data. Everyone is giving their opinion on data collection, storage and processing: the European Commission, governments, parliamentarians, regulatory authorities, private players… and yet, many still fail to grasp the considerable global stakes involved, not to mention the technical and legal impacts.

Beyond the RGPD, which comes into force next May, other legislative debates will continue in 2018: at European level,ePrivacy and the free circulation of data; in France, the modernization of the Data Protection Act.

Given the multiplicity of debates and players involved, Syntec Numérique has decided to launch a major initiative entitled “the great data debate”..

Three debates with leading personalities:

– March 13: “Personal data: how can we protect it and continue to innovate?”

  • Retraining and professional development

New technologies will continue to transform jobs in all sectors. Companies will have to adapt, rethink and reinvent their professions and the qualifications of their teams. Individuals will move from one sector of activity to another to practice other professions. To meet this immense challenge, we need to make a success of the reform of professional training. Syntec Numérique is fully committed to the project launched by the government.

In particular, the professional chamber will be taking an active part in the public debate by putting forward proposals to encourage professional mobility in digital professions, develop training offerings and ways of supporting career paths, and consider the use of digital technology for lifelong learning.

  • Modernizing social dialogue

Syntec Numérique is working with the Syntec Federation to put in place a secure, modernized and “agile” contractual framework that meets the needs of companies of all sizes.

“Syntec Numérique now boasts over 2,000 members, and we’re delighted to be so strongly represented! This new milestone confirms our dynamism and our position as the leading professional union for the French digital ecosystem, from start-ups to SMEs, including ETIs and major accounts. Our #5000startups program, deployed almost 3 years ago, has been a real success, bringing together and supporting hundreds of companies. Over 600 startups have already benefited from its advantages. Alongside our members and backed by our expertise, we look forward to taking on new challenges in 2018, defending an innovative vision of the digital sector and pursuing all our actions to fervently support its transformation.” comments Godefroy de Bentzmann, President of Syntec Numérique.

“We are more motivated than ever to complete the major projects we have set ourselves. Beyond these challenges, we must also place 2018 under the sign of adapting our organization to the profound changes in our environment. While Syntec Numérique is undeniably representative of our professions, we are regularly called upon to work with an ecosystem of partner organizations. Today, we need to go further and federate all the players involved in the digital revolution”. concludes Godefroy de Bentzmann, President of Syntec Numérique.
