Syntec Numérique and laWeb@cadémie– the two-year school founded in 2010 by ZUPdeCO and Epitech that trains school drop-outs in Web development and integration – have announced a partnership to promote the professional integration of young people trained at laWeb@cadémie.
LaWeb@cadémieis aimed at out-of-school young people, aged 18 to 25, with a passion for IT, who can’t – or no longer – find their place in the traditional school system, and have dropped out before the baccalauréat. It offers a free 24-month training course certified by Epitech, with the last twelve months devoted to work-study placements.
As part of this second year of work-study training, Syntec Numérique is committed to promoting, among its 1,200 members, some 50 young Web@cademicsfrom the class of 2013 who are looking for a host company.
Syntec Numérique’s commitment is to initially focus on the Ile-de-France and Rhône-Alpes regions:
- promote the recruitment of young people on work-study schemes among its members (a decisive step towards employment)
- contribute to meeting the challenges of the digital sector (shortage of engineers/developers, etc.).
- support the development of theWeb@cademy.
The digital sector, which creates skilled, high value-added jobs, led to the net creation of 7,000 jobs in France in 2012. And it is estimated that it will create more than 36,000 new jobs by 2018. New professions have emerged and will continue to do so. For this to happen, training needs to be rethought – a major step forward with the development of new schools, including theWeb@académie.

“We are delighted to support the Web@cadémie. The two years of training are tailored to the needs of companies, and give a chance to talented young people whose lives have sidetracked them from the path to success. It trains open-minded, versatile developers who are sometimes hard to find. This commitment, in line with Syntec Numérique’s objectives to train young people in our professions, shows the extent to which digital technology is a driving force for integration”, says Guy Mamou-Mani, President of Syntec Numérique.
