Syntec Numérique hopes for a 100% digital Macron government

While Syntec Numérique had called during the campaign for the subject of the Digital Economy to be attached to the Prime Minister, the appointment of Mounir Mahjoubi as Secretary of State for the Digital Economy under Edouard Philippe is a strong signal that Emmanuel Macron’s government is willing to take up this subject.

“Mounir Mahjoubi is a fine connoisseur of these subjects, whose talent will be invaluable in implementing the measures identified by Emmanuel Macron in his program to make France’s digital transition a success,” says Godefroy de Bentzmann, President of Syntec Numérique.

Beyond the Secrétariat d’Etat au Numérique, Syntec Numérique calls on the entire government to take up digital issues, so that Emmanuel Macron’s next five-year term is one of digital transformation for the country.

“Digital transformation not only impacts our sector, but also industry, the economy in general, the world of work, defense, health, cities, education and training. Each minister will therefore have to integrate the digital revolution into his or her actions,” comments Godefroy de Bentzmann.

Last but not least, Syntec Numérique is delighted with the place given to Europe within the government, with the appointment of Jean-Yves Le Drian as Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Marielle de Sarnez as Minister of European Affairs.

“Throughout the campaign, Syntec Numérique advocated the importance of relaunching France’s European policy, so that major projects such as the construction of a digital single market and a European data economy could be successfully completed,” concludes Godefroy de Bentzmann.
