Satelliz, a young innovative company honored for its partnership with Numergy
Satelliz, the story of an innovative small business in the Cloud
Created at the end of 2010, Satelliz was born of the realization by its founding partners, entrepreneurs in the Internet infrastructure sector since 1995 (including Ludovic Foreau), during their last entrepreneurial experience in hosting and facilities management, of the absence of easy-to-use supervision solutions in the Cloud Computing field.
The Satelliz teams have designed an innovative SaaS software solution for monitoring Cloud Computing infrastructures. In concrete terms, the Satelliz supervision solution enables IT organizations to monitor in real time the operation of all their online services, applications and IT servers (physical or virtual), wherever they are located on their various Clouds (private/public/hybrid Clouds, etc.). If the slightest technical anomaly occurs, the company is automatically alerted and can react immediately.
Satelliz’s software technology is offered in SaaS mode, making it easy to use and accessible to any company profile: immediate, automated start-up, no special technical configuration, use from any Internet browser, etc.
Satelliz is unique in that, in addition to its supervision software tool, it offers a 24-hour remote intervention and resolution service. Genuine level 1 support or “outsourced on-call”, this service continuously corrects any anomaly detected on the servers, on behalf of its customers, guaranteeing them total peace of mind and substantial operating savings.
This journey has been made possible thanks to the equity provided by the founding partners, as well as the support of public aid organizations and subsidies:
- Scientipôle Initiative prizewinner in 2012
- Réseau Entreprendre prizewinner in 2012
- OSEO innovation aid and Prêt Participatif d’Amorçage (seed capital loan)
- Young Innovative Company (JEI) status
- Research tax credit (CIR), …
Syntec Camp: a meeting place for members to forge future partnerships
After an initial R&D phase, SATELLIZ began marketing its solution in early 2012 to an initial circle of selected “friendly” customers. At the end of 2012, SATELLIZ unveiled its new supervision offers, which can be subscribed to online, aimed at projects ranging from 5 to 50 servers, mainly supported by VSEs/SMEs and startups. However, to address more ambitious projects and meet Satelliz’s sales targets, new distribution levers had to be found. In February 2013, an indirect sales program was announced, including “business provider” partners and also, for medium and large-scale projects, “Cloud Service Provider” partners, based on the principle of white labeling (i.e. making the solution available without mentioning the brand or origin of the solution) or embedding Satelliz technology directly within the partners’ technical solutions.
However, it’s not easy for SMEs to meet large companies with the potential to become partners: cultural differences, difficulty in identifying and meeting the right contacts, differences in speed of execution, etc. However, on April 16, during the Syntec Camp (a series of collaborative meetings designed to optimize ecosystem opportunities between start-ups and major players) dedicated to Cloud Computing, Satelliz and Numergy were able to meet.
Ludovic Foreau, President of Satelliz, and Frank Bossel, Numergy’s Sales Director, took part in a workshop aptly named “Le partenaire Cloud, un allié pour la distribution”. Immediately, they were able to compare their companies’ vision of the Cloud, and establish important convergences of convictions, notably concerning the accompaniment of end-customers towards the Cloud, and the importance of the role of local service providers for them.
Satelliz and Numergy, or the rapid creation of a win-win partnership
Following this fruitful first meeting, operational teams from both companies met to continue the dialogue and lay the foundations for the partnership.
After a POC (“Proof of Concept”) and a technological integration phase facilitated by the use of Numergy and Satelliz’s respective APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), Satelliz’s solution quickly became compatible with Numergy’s technical platform.
On May 31, 2013, after just a few weeks, Numergy and Satelliz announced the signing of their partnership agreement (Numergy Partner Network program). Satelliz announced the compatibility of its monitoring solution with Numergy’s Cloud offerings, and at the same time joined Numergy’s partner ecosystem, made up of major players in Cloud distribution and services in France.
Numergy’s corporate customers can now use the Satelliz supervision portal to supervise, configure and manage their Numergy-subscribed Virtual Machine servers with just a few clicks of the mouse. What’s more, customers, via Numergy partners such as Cloud outsourcers, will also be able to draw on Satelliz’s 24/7 incident resolution service.
New technical developments are underway, with the aim of bringing even more monitoring functionalities to Numergy’s offerings, and making them easier to use for Numergy’s partners.
With the formalization of this meeting, Satelliz strengthens its network of technological and commercial partners, which it had already initiated with Amazon Web Services (AWS). However, the company has no intention of stopping there, and in addition to strengthening existing partnerships – an ongoing and essential task – it aspires to pursue this approach and forge new links with major corporations.
Perhaps the next partnership will take shape at a Syntec Camp?
