The plan announced by the President on Thursday addresses several decisive AI issues:

  • Research efforts to generate breakthrough innovations. Attracting the world’s best researchers is just as important as pooling relevant data for research and innovation;
  • Encouraging a data economy and lifting regulatory barriers. Syntec Numérique is delighted to see the implementation, particularly at European level, of an offensive data policy, both by public bodies and the private sector, to encourage access, sharing and circulation of a greater mass of data;
  • Training for the new AI professions. For several years now, Syntec Numérique has been campaigning for a better orientation of the French vocational training system, particularly with regard to the new AI professions;
  • The spread of AI throughout the economy will enable strong productivity gains to boost growth. The industrialization of AI and its systematization in the production process of goods and services will enable French growth to double by 2035, thanks to a general increase in the economy’s productivity.

Syntec Numérique applauds the sums committed (1.5 billion euros over 5 years), and the quality and relevance of the axes for French economic and cultural development, which are at the heart of its commitment.
For several years now, Syntec Numérique has been devoting a large part of its work, via its various Innovation & Technologies, Health, and Training & Employment committees, to the challenges of artificial intelligence.

The professional chamber is pursuing this mobilization by proposing an expanded format for work, debate and dissemination, enabling the operational implementation of the plan announced by the President of the Republic and the concrete development of the various proposals it contains.

According to Godefroy de Bentzmann, President of Syntec Numérique: “The personal involvement of the President of the Republic is a strong signal that we are on the right track to creating world champions in artificial intelligence in our country. The governing bodies of Syntec Numérique will now be working hard to ensure the deployment of this initiative, and to involve as many people as possible in this challenge for the future.”
