Syntec Numérique welcomes progress on Privacy Shield, successor to Safe Harbor
Syntec Numérique would like to pay tribute to the work of the European Commission and the American negotiators, who succeeded in reaching an agreement within the allotted time, which we hope will restore confidence. We hope that it will provide sufficient guarantees both for the protection of personal data and for the restoration of a stable legal framework for businesses, in order to restore the transatlantic flow of data, which generates growth.
The trade association also welcomes the declarations of the Article 29 Working Party (which brings together the European CNILs) confirming that BCRs and Model Clauses are a valid means of transfer, right down to the analysis of the “shield”. We call on him to continue his pragmatic approach to enable the emergence of the Digital Single Market.
