However, the industry is suffering from a shortage of profiles. Faced with this need for skills, the professional chamber is stepping up its initiatives to help young people and the unemployed retrain and move into new professions, and is encouraging its member companies to take on work-study contracts.
Initiatives for new generations…
- In January 2014, we drew up a national digital training plan for the government, setting out 10 concrete proposals and recommendations for initial training, continuing vocational training and access to qualifications for jobseekers.
- Deployment of tools and events aimed at secondary school pupils, students and school leavers, under the brand name Talents du numérique, to raise their awareness of the jobs and attractiveness of the sector.
…and the unemployed
- Deployment of the “Préparation Opérationnelle à l’Emploi” (POE) scheme with the union’s member companies, FAFIEC and various regional Pôle Emploi offices. To date, over 1,500 jobseekers in eight regions have benefited from training in line with companies’ new skills requirements.
- Launch of a working group bringing together companies, training funding bodies (FAFIEC), Pôle Emploi, training organizations and schools, to promote closer links between the training on offer, job-seekers and companies’ operational needs.
- Partnership agreement signed on January 6, 2015 with the Fondation Agissons pour l’Emploi to better identify recruitment needs and propose a relevant training offer.
“The digital sector appeals to all profiles, from school leavers to young people without qualifications, or those undergoing retraining. Our industry is brimming with career opportunities and vacancies. The attractiveness of the sector, access to employment and the development of employee skills are our top priorities for 2015”, comments Guy Mamou-Mani, President of Syntec Numérique.
