Gender diversity in the business world: 25 concrete proposals to make it a reality

In the presence of Mounir Mahjoubi, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister in charge of the Digital Sector, and Delphine Geny-Stephann, Secretary of State to the Minister of the Economy and Finance, this ground-breaking event aimed to engage everyone’s responsibility and speak with one voice. The initiative is a long-term one, since it represents a truly federated movement of 25 associations that will be joining forces over the coming years, including Syntec Numérique and its Femmes du Numérique program.

Several rankings have highlighted the inequality that exists between men and women in the business world. The latest Forbes-Pressedd ranking is without appeal: women are conspicuously absent from the list of France’s most talked-about personalities in 2017. Of the 1,000 personalities who received the most media coverage in the French press in 2017, only 16.9% were women. (down since 2013). And the worst is in business: just 1%.

Through 25 concrete proposals, these economic networks wish today to underline the urgency of the actions to be undertaken around women in the workplace, access to entrepreneurship and key positions, professional mix and career choices.
