Paris, January 9, 2012 – To promote the attractiveness of the digital sector to a wider audience, Syntec Numérique has become the French organizer of e-Skills Week 2012.

This 2nd edition of European e-Skills Week, aimed at raising awareness among future specialists in the sector, will take place from March 26 to 30, 2012.

Initiated by the European Commission’s DG Enterprise and Industry, e-skills week 2012 is an information campaign designed to inform students, young professionals and SMEs about the many opportunities offered by ICT professions. The aim is also to highlight the growing importance of digital skills in today’s society. Coordinated by DigitalEurope and European Schoolnet, e-skills week 2012 is organized in collaboration with some twenty European partners.

As the French organizer of the event, Syntec Numérique is committed to promoting the digital economy among young people, and in particular young girls, who are still under-represented in the sector, with the major challenge of making digital professions and their uses more attractive.

e-Health, e-Education, e-City, e-Administration, sustainable development, transport, aeronautics, logistics, automotive, medical imaging… So many projects and economic sectors that offer attractive career and development prospects, which Syntec Numérique is promoting.

As part of this program, which focuses on the first term and runs until May 2012, with a reference week from March 26 to 30, Syntec Numérique is addressing young people, as well as teachers, parents, associations and guidance councils, ICT professionals, companies and political leaders, through a range of communication and educational initiatives.
