The digital industry is becoming increasingly important in France: in 15 years, it has created 700,000 jobs, more than the automotive industry did in the 1960s. Today, this sector represents 1.5 million jobs and contributes over 20% of our GDP growth every year.

This tremendous growth has been achieved without any real government intervention. Job creation and the reindustrialization of France – key issues for the future of our country and central themes of the presidential campaign – will therefore depend on digital technology, the development of which is lagging behind in France.

Syntec Numérique hopes that the public authorities will create a fiscal and social environment favorable to the development of innovative and export-oriented digital companies. They must also encourage traditional industries to invest massively in digital technologies in order to increase their productivity and hence their competitiveness.

Digital technology is a means of modernizing the State and reducing its deficit, simplifying citizens’ lives and training tomorrow’s generations.

“We are convinced that digital technology represents both the Industry of the Future and the future of industry. That’s why, today, we’re calling on the presidential candidates to realize that digital technology is the answer to our country’s problems in terms of growth, job creation and social transformation.

It must be at the heart of the candidates’ programs, because it is the tool for transforming businesses, administrations, and the lives of citizens and consumers. To strengthen the sector’s influence, I would like to see the creation of a French union of digital players, so that all our industry’s professionals can speak with one voice to the public authorities”,
