A year of great initiatives in 2013

With the aim of federating all energies around the software and optimizing the implementation of its action program, it has also appointed two new vice-presidents: Emmanuel Obadia and Eric Varszegi.

Since his election as Chairman of Collège Editeurs, Bruno Vanryb has been committed to promoting the profession at the heart of the technological value chain: thanks to initiatives such asTop250 of French software creators and publishers, the Collège today offers a unique snapshot of the dynamism of the sector, one of the locomotives of the economy with 1.4% growth in 2013*.

Collège Editeurs also created theSyntecCamps, an original meeting format designed to promote technological partnerships between small and large companies and develop a new way of working together. With three participative mornings and a closing event, attended by over 400 participants, Collège Editeurs has established itself as a benchmark event in the ecosystem.

A determination to broaden its scope of action for 2014

On the strength of these initiatives, Collège Editeurs has set itself new priorities for 2014: “We want to increase the business dimension of our actions, notably through the exchange of best practices (market access, export, etc.) and networking between the 600 publishers and, more generally, the 1,200 members, but also to promote Internet solutions in order to take into account the changing business model experienced by all our members”,explains BrunoVanryb.

To meet its ambitions, Syntec Numérique is planning two new key actions:

  • A mutual support system for international companies:exporting is now a key growth driver, particularly for small software publishers. Against this backdrop, Syntec Numérique has announced the launch of a service exchange system designed to ensure that all companies benefit from a win-win relationship when setting up business abroad.
  • A manifesto to unite Internet solutions players:to help make software publishers more attractive, Syntec Numérique will be gathering contributions from some twenty influencers in the Internet ecosystem, bringing the voice of software publishers to the new debates that are shaking up the digital world today.

“In parallel with these new initiatives, we are continuing our Syntec Camps; this year, the mornings will also be devoted to specific development issues (export, financing, takeover sessions, etc.), so that everyone can reap the concrete benefits. We will also be organizing the fourth edition of the Top 250 list of French software creators and publishers, and will continue to publish our monthly innovation barometer,”adds BrunoVanryb.

A strengthened college with the appointment of two vice-presidents

In order to implement the major actions of the Collège Editeurs throughout the year, and to have a board that is even more representative of the sector in all its diversity (major groups, SMEs, start-ups…), Bruno Vanryb has strengthened the board by appointing two vice-presidents, each in charge of a specific theme:

Emmanuel Obadia, Vice President Marketing EMEA at salesforce.com, has been appointed Vice President of the Collège Editeurs, in charge of Internet solutions.

Eric Varszegi, Chairman of Groupe IP-Label,has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the Collège Editeurs, with responsibility for the development of French publishers.

“These two appointments of quality individuals recognized in the ecosystem will enable the Collège Editeurs to be even more responsive, dynamic and efficient. In the same vein, we will be highlighting the impressive in-depth work carried out by Syntec Numérique’s various Commissions and Committees: in fact, all digital-related issues (regulatory, legal, tax, innovation, training, etc.) are addressed there today. We will also be attaching particular importance to collaborative work with other associations and organizations in the ecosystem”,adds GuyMamou-Mani, President of Syntec Numérique.
