Following the success of the first edition, Syntec Numérique’s Femmes du Numériquede Commission and the Pasc@lin association are launching the Trophée excellencia 2015, in partnership with ten schools. The aim of this trophy is to promote the digital sector to women, break down stereotypes and demonstrate the attractiveness of the professions. This year’s winners are twelve, compared with five in 2014!

At the heart of the transformation of businesses and society, the digital sector is one of the biggest recruiters in France, with over 35,000 vacancies in 2014 and 6,000 net jobs created in 20131. It accounts for 93.6% of open-ended contracts, and is brimming with new professions, career opportunities and mobility. Despite this dynamism, women represent only 27.2% of the sector1. To remedy this situation, Femmes du Numérique is more than ever committed to promoting digital professions and training for young women, coupled with the actions ofPasc@line, which brings together nearly 80 engineering schools.

“We want young women to become aware of the great opportunities our sector has to offer. Through the Trophée excellencia, we want to show them once again that there is a place for them in the digital sector, and encourage them to take the path of our industry. The previous edition was a resounding success, bringing out some very fine profiles. We hope to unearth new female talent again this year! comments Véronique di Benedetto, President of the Commission Femmes du Numérique.

“Thanks to our partner establishments, this year’s Trophée excellencia will reward ten female students by offering them their full tuition fees*. This is tangible proof of the teaching staff’s commitment to the feminization of the sector.  “explains Christian Colmant, Managing Director of Pasc@line.
