Companies in the sector are looking positively ahead to 2017: 81% of companies are forecasting growth in sales, compared with 75% in 2016. SME activity is also positive: 72% of them will improve their sales in 2017.

The sector will post growth of +3% in 2017

This growth will be driven by new service and software offerings, the development of new areas of expertise (DevOps, IoT, etc.) and the expansion of the SaaS model.

Digital transformation is driving growth in our sector. This transformation is spreading to all sectors of the economy. 76% of these companies have launched a “Digital Transformation” project, driven by operational efficiency, cost reduction and renewed customer experience. As for the companies in our sector, 61% are seeing strong growth in these projects at the start of 2017.

SMACS (Social, Mobility, Analytics, Cloud and Security), some of the technologies underpinning innovation and digital transformation, will grow by +15.2% in 2017, accounting for 20.1% of the software and IT services market. Net growth in SMACS will be 1.2 billion euros in 2017, while traditional environments will grow by 135 million euros.

In 2017, the challenges facing companies in our sector will be to improve their margins, boost innovation and find the right skills to strengthen their teams.
