Our responses to the national consultation on digital education

Syntec Numérique is delighted that the public authorities and the world of education are taking up the subject of “School and Digital”. This consultation echoes theproposals made by Syntec Numérique in January 2014 for a national training plan, for and through digital, to accelerate the spread of the necessary skills from the earliest age.

Indeed, early education in the major concepts of IT thinking reflects the need to create a generation of modern citizens, as well as the social and professional integration issues facing future generations. Pupils need to be given the keys to understanding the world around them, enabling them to become players in this ecosystem rather than mere consumers of digital technology.

Given the stakes involved and France’s relative lag in this area, we sincerely hope that these useful debates will lead to an ambitious policy and rapid deployment.
