#Digital: Employment, training, innovation and women at the heart of the second edition of Day-Click!

After attracting over 3,000 visitors last year, the Day-Click, organized by Syntec Numérique, is back in the spotlight on November 21. Free and open to all, this event aims to awaken the general public, new generations and especially young women, to digital technology, a sector of the future, both from a technological and employment point of view.

 

Supported by partners such as the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research and Paris City Hall, Day-Click promises an exceptional day of immersion in the digital world. For the occasion, Mounir Mahjoubi, Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, will be present at the event’s opening conference, from 10:15 to 11:15 (subject to change of agenda).

#Employmentand #Training: thousands of career opportunities to seize and dozens of professions to discover

In 2016, the digital sector in France created 19,000 net jobs and recruited 47,000 new staff1, while the number of startups created rose by 30% between 2012 and 20152. More than 200 digital companies and 20 universities and schools will be on hand to highlight this dynamic trend at the event.

More than 20,000 jobs (internships, work-study programs, fixed-term and permanent contracts) will be available throughout the day, via a gigantic Job-Dating sessionfrom 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., punctuated by 6-minute meetings with influential companies and startups. A coaching area will also be open to visitors from 9.30am to 5pm, offering practical advice on how to best prepare for recruitment interviews, enhance your profile, enhance your e-reputation and prepare your startup to raise funds.

At the same time, for those who haven’t yet decided on a career path, dozens of conferences will be organized to help them understand all the challenges of the digital world: the professions of tomorrow, the skills that will be required by companies in all sectors in the years to come, the associated training courses…

Numerous professionals will also be on hand to talk about their professions, most of which are still unknown to the general public: data scientist, web developer, UX designer, community manager, network engineer, DevOps architect, cloud consultant…

#Innovation: experience the future ahead of time!

Around a hundred companies and startups will be giving demonstrations throughout the day in the “Innovation Village” area.Innovation Village“open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Exhibitors will be showcasing their finest digital ideas and creations, through interactive experiences, to help visitors discover the future digital face of France.

Among the most innovative startups:

  • Drone Indoor: the very first place where the general public can come and learn to fly a drone, whatever their level, in a fun and educational way.
  • NAVYA: Autonomous, driverless and electric, the shuttle developed by NAVYA is at the service of cities and private sites for ever greater mobility.
  • Digital Music Solutions: an application for music lovers, which lets you virtually take the place of any musician in a band or orchestra, to play in 3D audio immersion.
  • I.C.O (Intelligent Connected Objects): 1st intelligent electronic card holder that alerts users if their bank card is forgotten, lost or stolen.

Technological” creativity will also be in the spotlight, with a digital animation allowing each visitor to create their own piece of digital street art in different settings.

A series of conferences led by France’s leading experts will also be organized to find out all about the technologies that will rule the world tomorrow: Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Smart City, Augmented Reality, Big Data…Should we be afraid of them? What are they good for? How can we control their development? What jobs revolve around them and what skills are needed? etc.

#Women: presentation of a ground-breaking study on women’s place in the digital world and presentation of the excellencia Awards

The Day-Click will host the fourth edition of the Trophée excellenciaorganized by Syntec Numérique and the Pasc@line association, in partnership with eight higher education establishments and seven companies.

The aim? To promote the digital world to young women, break down stereotypes and demonstrate the attractiveness of digital professions.

To this end, eight female baccalaureate / bac+2 students will be rewarded this year: each partner establishment will provide one winner with her tuition fees. Each winner will also benefit from a personalized coaching session to help her grasp her new direction and turn her career plans into reality.

Furthermore, in response to the growing disaffection of young women for digital training courses, Syntec Numérique will unveil the results of the Gender ScanTM 2017 survey. Conducted among French students, the study will show that these courses generate a very high level of satisfaction among female students, boosting their confidence and ability to project themselves into future careers.
